Included with ShadowCradle
Takelan builds ShadowCradle. Many ShadowCradle services can connect to Takelan platform services. You connect with one switch. It is optional. The Airgap tier works without it.
Secrets Manager, Featurettes, Healthcheck and Confidox are free*. Takelan SSO, Customer Desk, Tunnels and the Developer APIs are there when you want them.
Takelan SSO
Single sign-on through Takelan.
An appliance can ask the cloud to sign users in through Takelan SSO. The appliance keeps no SSO secret. Local accounts always stay, so you can still sign in if the link is down.

Secrets Manager
Free*Keep a recovery copy of your appliance secrets.
A paired appliance can send a best-effort copy of its secrets to Takelan through the cloud. This covers things like its credential key, vault passphrase and API credentials. Each change goes up as a new version. The local copy stays in charge, and backups never wait on it. Airgap and standalone appliances send nothing.

Featurettes
Free*Feature management. Turn features on for the right orgs.
The ShadowCradle cloud reads feature flags from Featurettes. If Featurettes is down, the cloud falls back to local defaults. A shipped feature never turns off because of an outage.

Healthcheck
Free*Uptime monitoring for your services.
Healthcheck results can feed the cloud as uptime evidence for service-level reports. This is off by default and you turn it on.

Confidox
Free*Documents, assets and agreements in one place.
If you choose, your appliance and device inventory can be mirrored into Confidox. The mirror is off by default. The local record is always saved, even when Confidox is off or unreachable.

Takelan Customer Desk
Accounts, contacts and support tickets.
When connected, a new organization is synced to the Customer Desk as an account and contact. Support tickets can be opened and tracked through the Customer Desk. Syncs wait in a durable queue, so a short outage loses nothing.

Takelan Tunnels (Omnigate)
A separate Takelan product for sharing your own apps.
Omnigate is a Takelan product that lets you expose your own applications through tunnels. ShadowCradle also integrates with it as a third way to manage an appliance remotely, even when the ShadowCradle cloud is unreachable, with a protection layer separate from the cloud.

Questions
Do ShadowCradle users get Takelan services automatically?
No. Takelan services are optional. The ShadowCradle cloud connects to them with one switch. Backups, restores and sign-in work when that switch is off or when Takelan is unreachable.
Does the Airgap licence work without Takelan?
Yes. The Airgap tier works with no Takelan connection at all. Nothing in ShadowCradle needs Takelan to run.
What does free within platform limits mean?
Secrets Manager, Featurettes, Healthcheck and Confidox are free within platform limits. Usage beyond the limits may be charged to maintain the platform. Ask us for the current limits.
Does an appliance talk to Takelan directly?
No. Appliances talk to the ShadowCradle cloud. The cloud talks to Takelan. This keeps Takelan credentials off customer hardware.
